Admissions in Best International Schools of Bangalore - India
JIRS admissions are based on merit and are on a first-come, first-serve basis due to limited seats and hostel availability. Since JIRS has been ranked among the best schools in India and the top residential co-ed school for sports, pastoral care and safety etc., applicants to JIRS have increased considerably making it more competitive hence hostel vacancies get filled in rapidly.
JIRS strongly believes that every child has a potential and therefore admissions are not merely confined to the high scorers only, but also gives equal opportunity to above average students. The experienced, dedicated, highly qualified and hand-picked faculty of JIRS take the challenge and pride in giving individual help and support to children who need attention to better their performance to their best.
Registration is based on IQ assessment of the child to check eligibility for a grade to which admission is sought. An experienced faculty is available to counsel and advice on curriculum, subjects, and stream most suitable to a child.
The competition for seats will be high during admission time and will be based on the high academic performance of the child. For grade XI- Commerce the minimum cut-off will be 65% and for science 75%. Admissions will also be considered based on the student's exceptional achievements in sports, extra-curricular activities and leadership qualities showcased at the school.
The psychometric test conducted and is solely for the purpose of analysis & assessment of the child’s career choice and parental guidance and not for selection/rejection purpose as per board regulations.
Assessment will be based on equal weight-age to the student's performance in the current grade and interaction with the principal. Also, the student's other talents and achievements will be considered in case he/she does not meet the academic eligibility criteria.
Admissions are purely merit based and JIRS does not encourage any donations or influence in its selection process. Conditional references from parents and alumni are considered as goodwill gestures as JIRS highly values their relationship.
Students can attend trial classes for international curriculum; however, they have an option of changing one curriculum to another within the first month of joining the school.
JIRS with pride accepts the credit of getting excellent results at board exams.
