A Vibrant Virtual Janmashtami Celebrations

Junior class students from Jain International Residential School celebrated a virtual Janmashtami on August 30, 2021.

The program began with the prayer and then moved to a session where Rudra, Yuvraj Bose of Grade 8, and Daksh Agrawal of Grade 7 shared some thoughts on the festivity. The significance of the celebration was presented by Prathna of Grade 8 and Samarth of Grade 7. Shlokas from Bhagwad Gita was recited by Sreeraj of Grade 6. Arnav Chowdhary of Grade 8 enchanted with his melodious flute music, and Samarth of Grade 7 rendered a song followed by the song performance by Ashwini of Grade 5 and Bhumicka of Grade 6.  Mr. S.R. Anil, a teacher at JIRS for Hindi and Sanskrit subjects, spoke on the values imbibed in Bhagwad Gita.  The event was presided by the chief guest Mr. Rudra Kumar Sharma. He enlightened the audience with an inspirational speech on the Dashavataras of Lord Vishnu. Nuthana of Grade 8, who co-hosted the event, delivered the vote of thanks and concluded this special event.

Overall, the online event was engaging. It also served as a joyful way for students to connect with their fellow batchmates and teachers.

Virtual Squash Sessions a Hit Among JIRS Students

Jain International Residential School focuses on providing its students an outlet to continue their sports training program as they would have at its campus in Bengaluru. With the school campus being temporarily closed due to the global health situation, the school seamlessly transitioned to a virtual model of conducting sports training classes for students of all grades.

One such example to quote is Mr. Prince Thakur, a squash coach at Jain International Residential School. Mr. Thakur regularly hosts online sessions that feature yoga classes, fitness activities, squash theory tests, demonstrating different racket swings and serves. Om Jariwala, a class XII student and a squash player, says, “The online sports classes are scheduled in the evening, giving us ample time to wind up our academic sessions for the day and commence our training. I am thankful to my teachers, coach, and staff at JIRS for helping us stay fit at times like these. “

Sports being an integral part of JIRS, and the school features seasoned sports specialists and trainers and an elite sports curriculum with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
