Students' Council Election

students council election 2019

Students' Council Election

The election for the Students’ Council was held at Jain International Residential School on 6 July 2019.  The objective of appointing the Student’ Council is to provide a platform to the students to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.  In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the Student’ Council is the voice of the student body.  They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.

In the preliminary round, candidates who had filed nominations were asked to give a three minute speech to present their case on why they should be elected for the posts they had stood for. This was followed by the students voting.  A total of forty five students filed nominations for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, IBDP Council Member, CIE Council Member, Cultural Secretary, Sports Secretary, House Captains and Vice Captains (Junior and & Senior).

In the second round, the Apex committee headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Wing Cdr. K. L. Ganesh Sharma (Retd.) selected the candidates on the virtue of their merit and as per the requirement of the selection criteria. The selection criteria includes parameters such as excellence in academics, sports, over all behavior in the academic block, dorms, and in the campus as a whole. The Apex body also considers students’ voting. The results were announced on 10th July 2019.

Finally twenty five students were elected. All the elected students were conferred designation badges and sashes in the Investiture ceremony on 11th July 2019.
