Pongal Celebration at JIRS

Pongal, the harvest festival that is celebrated in India was happily celebrated at JIRS on 15 January. This festival comes with a bundle full of joy and happiness to all Indians with different names in various regions of the country. JIRS had the most traditional festival at their school premises which was celebrated in a cultural and religious way. The celebration started with preparing Pongal, continuing with painting competition and ending it with the significant kite flying.

The students of JIRS were divided into various houses where they had to prepare varieties of Pongal. Once the Pongal was ready to be eaten, the housemates were given the opportunity to participate in the field of painting competition. The students participated in this event displayed their creative skills and brought out the theme of unity in diversity through their painting which is indeed a part and a parcel of JIRS.

Later in the day, the entire school took part in kite flying in the cricket ground which was a beautiful sight to witness that evening.
