Republic Day Celebrations

The 61st Republic Day was celebrated with pride at Jain International Residential School. Wg. Cdr. K. L. Ganesh Sharma CEO of JIRS, the chief guest for the day was escorted by Aarya Sharma & Pooja Patil. The flag was unfurled with the tune of National Anthem being played by Abhishek Soni of class IX. The gathering was welcomed by Master Bhim Mandal of ’A’ Level IGCSE.
‘Jahan daal daal par sone ki chidiya karti hai basera woh bharat desh hai mera’ the patriotic song was melodiously sung by the school choir. The English speech by Master Vaibhav Sharma of class X I ‘G’ gave the youth a message that they are not here merely to make a living. They are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with finer spirit of hope & achievement. He stressed that the youth is here not only to enrich our Mother India but also the world.
The Hindi poem by Master Vaibhav Tripathi & hindi speech by Master Srenik & Master Vikrant was very vibrant stressing on the importance of our heritage, culture, oneness & national integration for a strong nation building.
CEO, in his message to the students said that they need to take an oath they will become disciplined & civic conscious. He said that the steel production in China is 550 million tonnes worth compared to India which has hardly 50 million tonnes. He also said that with a minimum area, Singapore as a Nation has attained a high status to trade with the International Community and it was time to introspect, why we lag behind in India which has excellent professionals, scientists, doctors, engineers, businessmen etc. He concluded by saying that we need to inculcate discipline and hard work ethos to take our country to high citadel.
Vote of thanks was given by Ankith Sharma of Class VIII. The celebration came to an end with the whole school singing the National Anthem.
