Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence (JASE) Organized 13th JASE Cup
Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence (JASE) organized the 13th JASE Cup, an Invitational Interschool Sports Festival which was held from 19 August 2017 to 2 September 2017 at the JGI Global Campus.

Beginning the day with an inaugural function, distinguished guests Mr. Rajan Varghise, Dean, Jain University School of Law, (Retd). Wing Commander K L Ganesh Sharma, CEO, JIRS and Wing Commander Arijit Ghosh, COO, JIRS graced the occasion.

It was a matter of great pleasure that nearly 1000 children participated in the sporting carnival. 18 schools across Bengaluru battled to win prestigious trophies in 142 events from 78 categories’ in 19 disciplines.

Individual prizes and team trophies were awarded to the winners including the ‘Best Player Trophy’ to encourage the emerging sportsperson who participated in the event.

The event was well organized by team JASE and indeed it was a great success.

INTRA – MUN 2017
Jain International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru had recently conducted INTRA- JIRS MUN (Model United Nations) 2017 which is a conference that provided a platform for students to exhibit their public speaking skills, critical thinking, and writing skills. In addition, students learnt about team work and leadership skills. The conference was organized on 23 and 24 August, 2017 which was inaugurated by JIRS CEO (Retd). Wing Commander K L Ganesh Sharma.

The senior members of Model United Nations of the school thoroughly planned the event guiding their juniors. All the students who participated in the event had exhilarating experience as it provided them an opportunity to develop an understanding of how different committees such as DISEC (Disarmament and Security Committee), HRC (Human Rights Council), and WHO (World Health Organization) function.

There were sixty-three delegates in each committee who were guided by the senior students to understand the event and how it functions. The event was indeed helpful in shaping them with confidence, zeal, critical thinking and also in mastering the art of diplomacy.

The Investiture Ceremony 2017-18

Leadership plays a vital role in the life of students. JIRS provides the platform to its students who possess leadership qualities to showcase their potentials and leadership traits allowing them to shoulder responsibilities as prefects for the various posts in the Student Council. The initiation of the Student Council took place on the 22 July 2017 in the form of the Investiture Ceremony.

The day began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Mr. Enrico Piperno, India’s former Davis Cup and Federation Cup coach of Indian Tennis team. The Guests of Honor were Mrs. Samira Piperno and selected parents.

The ceremony began with a parade of children representing the different contingents holding the school flag and respective house flags marching past the Chief Guest in a commendable manner. The newly formed Council m were unveiled with great pomp and show. The oath taking ceremony took place under the guidance of the Guest who read out the oath and the students swore to uphold and pledged allegiance to the school reputation, house flags and designated posts with integrity and honor.

The Chief Guest advised the students’ to take sports seriously and to balance both sports and academics. The memorable day drew to a close but the hearts and minds of the Student Council members opened up new vistas for them as this day marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

JIRS Celebrated Graduation Day on 17 February 2017

Jain International Residential School witnessed the much-awaited event of Graduation Day on 17 February 2017. The guest of honor for the day was Prof. (Dr.) R.Venkata Rao, Vice-Chancellor, National Law School of India University, a distinguished personality in the field of law, witnessed the Graduating ceremony in full grandeur. 

Graduation day for a student is the day when she/he graduate from high school, it is the day of their future of which they had dreamt. It was the day of the beginning of their dreams – “Dreams of the Future”- These words seemed to reverberate in every student's heart as their faces shone with an inner light and pledged to dispel the darkness around them with the light of knowledge.

It was a beautiful sight to see the students of grade XII marching solemnly with their lit candles. It was a captivating movement for eternity in each one’s heart in the August Hall. The inspirational message was given by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, Vice-Chancellor, NLS which would forever etch in each one’s heart as they go forth in life with a purpose to empower the future.

The guest of honor in his speech emphasized on leadership and discipline that paved the way for success. He advised students to follow 3 mantras such as hard work, perseverance and the right frame of mind in their pursuit of excellence. It was a proud moment for every student as they received mementos by Prof. (Dr.) R.Venkata Rao, Wg.Cdr.K L Ganesh Sharma (Retd). The students hugged these token of memory close to their heart as if trying not only to carry this but also a part of the schooling engraved within their hearts.

A rollicking farewell party was organized to XII grade students who were ready to say goodbye to their school days. The party appeared to linger in the hearts of every student forever. The crown of Miss.JIRS and Mr.JIRS were given to Miss.Saakshi Pandit and Master. Aman Raj Varma.

The memorable day drew to a close but the hearts and minds of the students as they walk through a myriad of memories opened up new vistas for them. They were the torchbearers who would illuminate the world as the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

A four day workshop ‘Art Excel’ conducted by Art of living at JIRS

JIRS organized a colorful four days’ workshop ‘Art Excel’ conducted by Art of living from 1 to 4 February 2017 headed by the team leader Mrs. Shobna Kalyan.

DAY - 1: The first session was started with games, and puzzles oriented activities. The second session continued with value based stories to build the confidence and trust among themselves about the Devine power.

DAY – 2: Introduction to Yoga and Meditation was given. The glory of Art of living and its worldwide activities were shown through a video show.

DAY – 3 : Yoga and Meditation were continued with the process of controlling body, mind, and senses. The system and procedure of Sudarshana Kriya were also taught.

DAY – 4 : The last day yoga and meditation along with Sudarshana Kriya was done. Students participated with full of enthusiasm.

Children also presented short plays, dance and also a speech on the learned divine concepts which was appreciable.

At last CEO of JIRS, Wg Cdr. K L Ganesh addressed the gathering and appreciated the children for their successful and effective participation.

Ms. Suahana rendered the vote of thanks.

Mr. Nareshkumar M.G Coordinator of the program ended the program with Shanti mantra.

17th ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION

On the special day of 30 December 2016, parents and students witnessed the 17th annual day celebrations of JIRS. The resplendent grandeur of nature, brilliantly matched with the wonderful display of march-past by the students of JIRS. The students exhibited their disciplinary and endurance skills through karate and equestrian show. The Chief Guest for this fabulous Parade was Gp. Cpt. Bharani Kumar Remala. The chief guest motivated the children to excel in their discipline and all round development which JIRS imparts to its students.

The chief guest of the grand day Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Chairman, JGI Group who also presided over the function with his mind igniting words on parenting and creating leaders and entrepreneurs, which left a lasting impression on the audience.

The CEO of JIRS Wg. Cdr. K L Ganesh Sharma (Retd), presented his annual report on results and achievements of all students and emphasized on the role of parents and teachers to mold the children in their foundational years.

The main highlight of the cultural show was the dance drama based on the theme of "A TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARM FORCE". The students displayed their artistic skills in the best possible manner and enchanted the audience which numbed them to their seats.

These performances were choreographed by ‘Shaimak Dawar' under the guidance of accomplished artists. The parents and invitees to the program gave a standing ovation to the tireless efforts of the students.
