JIRS organized graduation day for the outgoing batch of 2018 – 19 on 24 January 2019. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. R. Shankar. His areas of specialization are Paleoceanography, Marine / Estuarine Geochemistry and Environmental Magnetism. He has also received Sir C. V. Raman award.
The program continued with the ‘Flag Handing over Ceremony’ wherein the school and house appointments of Grade XII handed over their mantle of responsibility to their juniors of Grade XI.
Further on the list was the most significant event – Passing the light of Knowledge to symbolize that JIRS will continue to shine and that the students will continue to light up their chosen pathway in life. All the graduating students received the light of knowledge from the teachers. It was a moment that really added charm to the atmosphere with a sense of achievement.
In Dr. R. Shankar’s address to the students, he inspired them to vow to save water and prevent the world from global warming. The students were motivated by his thought-provoking words. The CEO, JIRS, also addressed the graduating batch. In his speech, he blessed the outgoing batch and extended his good wishes to them for a bright, successful and prosperous future.
It was a morning of mixed emotions for all present at the school auditorium witnessing the ceremony. The speeches of the students nostalgically reflected upon their journey in JIRS and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for all the learning received through the years.
