Bengaluru, 8 February 2025: JIRS hosted an event named Infinity and Beyond, organised by the Department of Mathematics. This engaging and intellectually stimulating event was designed to foster collaborative learning and creative problem-solving in mathematics. The programme brought together students to explore mathematical paradoxes, probability, and theoretical concepts through interactive, hands-on activities and puzzles.
The initiative aimed to cultivate teamwork, critical thinking, and the practical application of mathematical principles to everyday scenarios. By integrating real-world examples into problem-solving exercises, participants were able to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its relevance in daily life.
Participants engaged in a variety of stimulating challenges, from solving probability-based puzzles to unravelling intriguing paradoxes, each designed to stretch intellectual boundaries while building cooperative skills. The event reflected the university’s commitment to providing immersive learning experiences that go beyond the classroom, equipping students with skills that are valuable in both academic and real-world contexts.
Infinity and Beyond concluded on a note of accomplishment and inspiration, with students expressing enthusiasm for similar opportunities in the future. The organisers announced plans to expand the scope of the event in the coming years, introducing new mathematical themes and collaborative challenges to continue nurturing analytical and creative thinking among participants.
