JIRS Inaugurated JIRSMUN as a Platform for Global Leadership and Collaboration

Bengaluru, 29 August 2025 : The Opening Ceremony of the JIRS Model United Nations (JIRSMUN) set a dignified and inspiring tone on 29 August 2025, marking the beginning of a three-day event dedicated to dialogue, diplomacy, and global collaboration. The inaugural proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, soulful cultural performances, and warm addresses that captured the essence of international cooperation and leadership.

The ceremony was graced by the Secretary-General of JIRSMUN 2025, Master Pranav, who officially declared the conference open. In a symbolic gesture of responsibility and leadership, the school leadership team presented gavels to the Secretariat and Committee Directors. This act underscored the institution's commitment to nurturing young leaders equipped with dialogue and diplomacy values.

Day One of the conference witnessed vibrant debates and dynamic discussions across multiple committees. The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) engaged participants in spirited exchanges on pressing national issues, while the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) addressed thought-provoking topics of global concern. The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) navigated critical debates on international peace and security, complemented by futuristic diplomacy in the Functional United Nations Security Council (FUNSC).

Adding to the event's uniqueness, creative committees such as Percy Jackson and Treasure Island showcased imaginative diplomacy, allowing participants to approach problem-solving through innovative and unconventional perspectives. The diversity of committees highlighted JIRSMUN’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, cultural exchange, and leadership skills among its delegates.

Speaking at the event, Secretary-General Master Pranav remarked:  “JIRSMUN is not merely a conference but a platform for young minds to engage in meaningful dialogue, embrace diversity, and prepare themselves as responsible global citizens. The debates, deliberations, and camaraderie that unfold here are stepping stones towards a more collaborative world.”
