Bengaluru, 15 August 2023: JAIN International Residential School (JIRS) celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with a dignified and spirited programme, blending the reverence of tradition with messages of contemporary social relevance. The event honoured the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters while fostering unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility among the student community.
The celebration commenced with an impressive parade formation, reflecting discipline, teamwork, and school pride. The solemn general salute by the equestrian team further elevated the ceremonial atmosphere. The dignitaries' unfurling of the National Flag was met with heartfelt respect, as students and faculty joined in singing the National Anthem.
The cultural segment featured stirring renditions of patriotic songs that evoked the nation’s spirit of resilience and unity. A thought-provoking street play on the theme Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India) urged the audience to reject substance abuse and contribute positively to society. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognising exceptional performances in the inter-house march past competition, celebrating teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
Speaking about the occasion, Mr. S. C. Bose, Overall In-Charge of the event, said:
"Independence Day is not just a date on the calendar; it is a reminder of our duty to the nation. By combining tradition with socially relevant messages, we aim to inspire our students to be both proud citizens and responsible changemakers."
